The City of Springfield will be hosting the Springfield City Manager Recruitment’s Community Engagement Event from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 16 at Springfield City Hall located at 225 Fifth Street in Springfield. This will be an informal meet and greet to provide community members with an opportunity to interact with the candidates for Springfield City Manager and to provide valuable feedback.

The Finalists:

Adam Hammatt has more than 12 years of local government management experience and most recently served as City Manager for the City of Whitefish, Montana, a position he held from 2017 to 2019. Before that, he was Village Administrator for the Village of Kimberly, Wisconsin, from 2012 to 2017; Village Administrator for the Village of Suamico, Wisconsin, from 2010 to 2012; and City Administrator for the City of Elroy, Wisconsin, from 2008 to 2010.

Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Montana State University, a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Montana, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Montana School of Law. He is also an ICMA Credentialed Manager.

 

Jacque Betz has more than 10 years of local government management experience and currently serves as City Administrator for the City of Gladstone, Oregon, a position she has held since 2017. Before that, she was Gladstone’s Assistant City Administrator from 2016 to 2017, and prior to that, she served as City Manager for the City of Newberg, Oregon, from 2014 to 2015, and City Manager for the City of Florence, Oregon, from 2012 to 2014.

Jacque holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Oregon State University and is currently completing a master’s degree in public policy administration at Northwestern University. She is also an ICMA Credentialed Manager.

 

Nancy Newton has more than 10 years of local government management experience and currently serves as Assistant County Executive/Chief Operating Officer for Sacramento County, California, a position she has held since 2016. Before that, she served as Interim County Administrator for Clackamas County, Oregon, from July to September 2013, and Deputy County Administrator for Clackamas County from 2010 to 2016.

Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational leadership from George Fox University and a master’s degree in public administration from Portland State University.

 

Raymond Lee has more than 10 years of local government management experience and currently serves as the Public Works Director for the City of Amarillo, Texas, a position he has held since 2016. Before that, he worked for the City of Dallas, Texas, as Assistant Director of Street Services from 2015 to 2016 and in a variety of positions in the Street Services department from 2012 to 2015. He also served as Business Manager for Library Services for the City of Dallas from 2010 to 2012.

Raymond holds a bachelor’s degree in in public administration from Henderson State University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kansas.

 

Robert Wood has more than 21 years of local government management experience and most recently served as City Administrator for the City of West Lake Hills, Texas, from 2007 to August 2019. Before that, he was City Manager for the City of Flatonia, Texas, from 1999 to 2007.

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas’ LBJ School of Public Affairs. He is also an ICMA Credentialed Manager.
