Mad Libs

Springfield Public Library’s weekly Virtual Teen Tuesdays continues this fall. Join other teens to play Mad Libs and fill in the blanks with zany laughter during this virtual program at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6. Teens are invited to log into GoToMeeting and join the discussion. It’s free and for teens ages 12 and older.

Mad Libs is a tried and true road trip game, but also works well for virtual meetings.  Because there are good websites for playing, teens can take the lead on asking for words, or just sit back, fill in the occasional blank, and enjoy the fun.

From regular virtual programming to homework help, from book club to volunteer opportunities, there’s still a lot for teens to do at Springfield Public Library. Follow us on Facebook, check out our online library calendar, or reach out to our Teen Services Librarian Cara Kinsey for more information.

Thanks to the Teen Advisory Board for helping choose our virtual program lineup!

Join other teens to talk about what you have been reading this summer at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, October 8. This event is free, for teens ages 12 and older.

This month’s book is Escape from Aleppo by N.H. Senzai. Publishers Weekly said, “Nadia’s family is forced to flee their home in Aleppo, Syria, when the Arab Spring sparks a civil war in this timely, “harrowing” coming-of-age novel from award-winning author N.H. Senzai.” You can pick up a copy ahead of time during curbside pickup hours from 1-3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Teens are encouraged to participate whether or not they have picked up or read the book. We will also be sharing our love of books in general.
