“Please Bother Me By Appointment”: Socially Distanced Assistance at the Library

Springfield Public Library has re-introduced its tech help program ‘Please Bother Me’ – but now it is By Appointment! Please Bother Me, a weekly program where patrons can receive assistance, hints, tips and tricks with their smart devices, library databases or online services, has been on hiatus since March. Starting August 7, patrons will be able to make an appointment and then visit the library in-person for help with accessing Libby, using Wi-Fi or any other help they require (within reason). Patrons and Library Staff will be socially distanced with a camera and screen set-up to allow patrons to follow along and learn while their smart device is being worked on. The program runs alternating Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to noon. To make an appointment please phone 541.726.3766, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Springfield Public Library continues to offer free access to all our online databases, curbside pick-up for physical items and daily computer/printing appointments.
