This event has passed.

Every year a committee of Springfield Public Schools teachers and the Springfield Alliance for Equity and Respect (SAfER) organizes a celebration of the life and work of Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez, two great human rights leaders dedicated to non-violence. You may have attended this wonderful event in the past. This year the Celebration will take place on-line, supplemented by take home packets.

Dolores Huerta will be interviewed by Springfield students in a recording that will be released on the SPS website www.springfield.k12.or.us/HuertaChavez at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 8th.

Please join us on-line for this very special event. The theme for 2021 is a quote from Dolores Huerta:

“Every minute – a chance to change the world”  “Cada minute – una opportunidad para cambiar el mundo.”

You are invited to become involved by learning more about Huerta and Chavez through the interactive website: www.springfield.k12.or.us/HuertaChavez, and especially by supporting students in submitting artistic entries accepted until April 16th.
