Springfield Public Library and Goodwill to offer Employment Clinics

Are you looking for work or wanting tips on career advancement? Sign up for a free one-on-one Goodwill Employment Clinic at the Springfield Public Library. This half-hour session (at 4:30, 5, 5:30 or 6 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month) with a Goodwill Employment Specialist is designed to help you in all aspects of gaining employment or furthering your career. Free Movie for Teens

Life moves fast. If you do not stop and look around occasionally, you could miss it so don’t take a Day Off from this movie! Teens are invited to watch a movie at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, at Springfield Public Library, 225 5th St, Springfield.

This movie is rated PG-13. Popcorn will be served. Admission is free! Non-teens must be accompanied by and at the invitation of a teen in order to attend.

The Library offers a weekly gathering for teens every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Join us to hang out, enjoy a snack, learn new skills and have fun. Teen programs are made possible by our generous Friends of the Springfield Library.

Poems from the Booth at 100 Mile Bakery – with help from the Springfield Public Library

On Valentine’s Day request a poem for the one you love (or anyone else for that matter) with ‘Poems from the Booth’. The Springfield Public Library is teaming up with 100 Mile Bakery to offer live poetry from a booth – chosen and performed live! Participants will type a dedication into the computer and choose from a number of poems. The curtain will roll back, the dedication and poem will be performed and then the booth will be ready for the next participant. Participants will also be able to sample some delightful food from 100 Mile Bakery! So come along, enjoy a poem and a treat – and why not also enjoy the 2nd Friday Artwalk presented by the Emerald Arts Center at the same time!

All events are free and open to the community.

Please Bother Me Class – Social Media 101 presented by Goodwill Job Connections

Interested in utilizing social media to enhance your job search? Goodwill Job Connections and Springfield Public Library are teaming up to present ‘Social Media 101’ at 2 p.m., Friday, February 15 in the Library Meeting Room. Offered as part of the library’s ongoing ‘Please Bother Me’ drop-in program, ‘Social Media 101’ is an introductory overview on how to job search and network using social medias as well as the  do’s and don’ts  of using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for job search.

Goodwill Job Connections and the Springfield Public Library are also offering free one-on-one Goodwill Employment Clinics.
