Readers Theater – The Monkey’s Paw

Virtual Teen Tuesdays at 4:30 pm continues weekly this fall. Teens are invited to log in and join the discussion. Watch or participate in a readers theater production of the classic W. W. Jacobs story The Monkey’s Paw at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 20.  Free, for teens ages 12 and older.

Just drop in if you want to enjoy the experience, but for teens who know they are going to be there and want to prepare a role, they can email Librarian Cara or fill out the following form: https://springfield-or.libwizard.com/f/teentheater

What is readers theater? It is a dramatic reading without props, costumes, or scenery. It’s like a full-cast audiobook or a radio show (although with fewer sound effects). All you need is your voice. We expect to have fun and make some mistakes but readers theater is at its best if you have read your role through at least a couple of times. (No memorization though, you will have the script in front of you.)

For adults and others interested in the program, we will be recording this for sharing, so you will get a chance to enjoy the production soon.

From regular virtual programming to homework help, from book club to volunteer opportunities, there is still a lot for teens to do at Springfield Public Library. Follow us on Facebook, check out our online library calendar, or reach out to our Teen Services Librarian Cara Kinsey for more information.

Thanks to the Teen Advisory Board for helping choose our virtual program lineup!
