See art in action! Springfield’s UpStream Art mural painting project is July 20-21, 2023

Community members are invited to watch artists at work for the eighth annual UpStream Art mural painting project. Four Oregon artists will be creating colorful murals with water-friendly messages around storm drains in Springfield at the intersection of Yolanda Avenue and 20th Street. The UpStream Art project supports artists and raises awareness of the connection between City streets and local waterways, which happens at the storm drain.

City Hall Closures Week of June 19

Springfield City Hall, including the Springfield Public Library, will be closed to the public on Monday, June 19 in observation of the Juneteenth holiday. Additionally, Springfield City Hall and Springfield Public Library will be closed from 8 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 21 for an all-staff safety training.

Deadline Extended: Nominations Invited for Springfield Heritage Awards

In celebration of May is National Historic Preservation Month, the City of Springfield invites community members to submit nominations for the 2023 Springfield Heritage Awards. The deadline for nominations has been extended to 5 pm, June 23.
