Do you need supplies to create an entry for the Springfield A to Z Art Contest? No problem! Art kits can be picked up at the Springfield Public Library starting June 7, 2021 and will be distributed while supplies last. Kits can be requested at curbside or during other Library appointments. You can choose an art kit in ONE of the following media: oil pastels, charcoals, drawing, watercolor, acrylic paint, paper-based art, and mixed media/”surprise me”. Please limit kit pickup to one kit per person total.

You are encouraged to submit your artistic creations as entries to the Springfield A to Z art contest, sponsored by the Springfield Public Library and Springfield History Museum. Entries are due to the Library or Museum no later than 4 p.m., July 31, 2021. Artists of all ages and ability levels are strongly encouraged to enter. The Springfield A to Z Art Contest is open to residents of Springfield and rural East Lane County (for full eligibility, please see contest details). Artwork should celebrate Springfield and correspond with a letter of the Latin alphabet (A, B, C, etc.). Please see wheremindsgrow.org/events for full contest details, including artwork parameters and submission guidelines. All winners will receive a free copy of the alphabet book upon publication. The bilingual (English/Español) Springfield A to Z Alphabet Book created from winning entries is expected to be available in print in the first half of 2022.

The bilingual (English/Español) Springfield A to Z Alphabet Book is expected to be available in print in the first half of 2022. All proceeds from sales of the book will benefit the Springfield Public Library and Springfield History Museum.
