The Springfield City Council is seeking community input on the candidates interested in serving as interim Councilor for Ward 1 (northwest Springfield/Gateway area). A total of eight community members submitted applications to serve. The Council will interview candidates at its February 16 work session, February 22 work session and will deliberate on the appointment at the March 1 regular meeting. The Council is scheduled to make the appointment at its March 1 meeting.

How can the community get involved?

  • Listen to the candidate interviews during the February 16 work session and then provide public comment during the February 16 regular meeting.   • Listen to candidate interviews during the February 22 work session (please note there is no public comment during work sessions). The agenda and meeting registration will be available at 5 p.m., Thursday, February 18 at https://www.springfield-or.gov/city/city-council-meetings/
  • Provide public comment at the March 1 regular meeting. The agenda and meeting registration details will be available at 5 p.m., Thursday, February 25 at https://www.springfield-or.gov/city/city-council-meetings/
