We’re excited to announce that City Manager Nancy Newton has appointed Niel Laudati as Assistant City Manager. Niel has been Interim Assistant City Manager since August 2019 and has done an exemplary job in that capacity.

As Assistant City Manager, Niel will manage the City’s Development and Public Works divisions, and legislative and intergovernmental programs. He also serves on the City’s 12-member executive team, the City’s budget preparation team, and is responsible for the City Manager’s Public Art Program and diversity outreach.

Niel joined the City of Springfield in 2004. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Urban Leadership from the School of Public Policy at UNLV.

Prior to joining the City in 2004, he spent seven years with the Southern Nevada Water Authority, managing outreach programs for some of the largest public works projects in the state.

He currently serves as the Board President of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lane County – an organization providing voices for abused and neglected children in Lane County.

Niel is very happily married and has two kids both attending schools in Springfield.
