The Springfield Historic Commission has supported the development of several brochures highlighting some of Springfield’s historic resources that can be used to guide the reader on a walking tour of the listed resources.  Electronic copies of these guides can be found by clicking on the links below.  If you wish to obtain a hard copy, please contact us.  

Downtown Walking Tour

This Downtown District Walking Tour guide is a historical guide to many of the prominent historic buildings in the Springfield Downtown District. With a map in the middle of the brochure, it is easy to follow along and get a self guided tour with the history behind each of the buildings right at your fingertips.

Everyday Houses

This brochure, created by University of Oregon students, is a great reference guide to Springfield's most popular housing types from 1800-1980, from Side Gable, Hall and Parlour houses to Craftsman Bungalows.

Springfield Museum

The Springfield Museum is located on the corner of 5th and Main Street. It is housed in the old Pacific Power and Light brick building. The museum has new display every month or so in their gallery. There is a display upstairs regarding Springfield history. The museum has lots of old photos, documents, and items.
