Water Quality Management Program

The City of Springfield regularly inspects public and private water quality facilities to ensure they are functioning properly. Water quality facilities are systems that are designed to slow the flow of, and remove pollutants from, stormwater runoff. Examples of these facilities include swales, planters, ponds, catch basin filters, and lots more!

Water quality facilities are required by law and must comply with Oregon Department of Environmental Quality regulations. These facilities require regular maintenance to do their job of cleaning stormwater runoff. The purpose of the Water Quality Facility Management Program is to support the maintenance of these facilities.
