Incident: Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

Involved: Two Adult Males (Names withheld pending notification of next of kin)
On July 13th, 2019, at 12:33 a.m. Springfield Police Officers responded to a report of a single motorcycle crash near Franklin Blvd. and Glenwood Blvd. A witness reported two riders had sustained serious injuries. Eugene Springfield Fire arrived as officers attempted to provide care. The two riders had already succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the crash. Evidence and witness statements indicate the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Franklin Blvd at high speeds, and left the roadway at a bend in the road just west of Henderson Ave. The motorcycle impacted a road sign and tree before coming to rest in the parking lot of a nearby business. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
Officer Robert Conrad (lead investigator) has asked that anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or observed a speeding motorcycle on Franklin Blvd. just prior to the crash, contact the Springfield Police to provide additional information.

The Springfield Police Department has identified the victims of the fatal motorcycle crash on 07/13/2019 as 47 year old Marcus P. Teal and 49 year old Paul L. McClain, both of Eugene.
