Community members interested in the Springfield City Council’s efforts can now find meeting recordings available on YouTube at https://youtube.com/c/SpringfieldOregon in addition to the City’s website.

The COVID-19 pandemic has required needed changes to help protect community health and slow the spread of the virus in our community.

An early change was the introduction of virtual Springfield City Council meetings in April 2020. Since that time, community members have been able to participate in their local government as Council work sessions and regular sessions are conducted virtually. Community members may register to participate in the live meetings at https://www.springfield-or.gov/city/city-council-meetings/

Recordings of the Council meetings have been available on the City’s website. However, Council recently requested City staff add meeting recordings to YouTube to provide yet another outlet for the community to tune into what is happening at their local city government.

“We know during this pandemic, there is no such thing as “business as usual,” said Council President Joe Pishioneri. “We must continually look for ways we can keep our community informed and engaged with what’s happening in their city.”

Meeting recordings are posted to YouTube typically the same week following the virtual meeting.
