Comprised of services related to the collection and treatment of
sewage, the Sewer Maintenance program covers maintenance of the City's 225 miles of sanitary sewer
lines, and participates in the design and construction of new City sewer
facilities. Maintenance activities include pipeline cleaning, smoke testing and
repairing pipelines and manholes, and TV inspections. TV'ing of sewer lines is
performed to identify entry of extraneous water into sewer lines and schedule
repairs.
A Wet Weather Management Plan is being used in identifying sanitary pipelines
needing replacement. The City and regional wastewater personnel work to identify
infiltration that enters the local and regional sanitary systems.
