All three positions were uncontested.  The terms for those receiving the majority of votes in the Primary Election for the positions of City Councilors for Ward 1, 2 and 5 will commence at the first Council meeting in January 2015 and expire on December 31, 2018.

Candidates for the Springfield City Council Ward 6 position and the Springfield Utilty Board (SUB) positions can file after June 4, 2014.

* The position for SUB position #1 is to fill out the remainder of an existing term, and will commence on January 1, 2015 and expire December 31, 2016.

The terms for SUB positions #2, #3, and #4 will commence on January 1, 2015 and expire December 31, 2018.

** The position for Springfield City Councilor, Ward 6 is to fill out the remainder of an existing term, and will commence on January 1, 2015 and expire December 31, 2016

*** Candidates need to collect 25 signatures from registered voters in their ward (councilors) or city limits (mayor and Springfield Utility Board members) to qualify for the ballot. Applicants with a triple asterisk after their name have not yet collected or submitted the required signatures.

Registering to Vote:

You may register to vote at any time. However, your voter registration card must be postmarked no later than the 21st day before the election at which you intend to vote. For the November 4, 2014 General Election, the deadline to register is October 14, 2014.
